How to create barcode samples for Commercial Team - Retail and Master case
Commercial provides GTINS (commercial and master case) for each project
Copy data source and label formats from a previous sample request to a new folder
Rename all to match the new sample request. i.e. New Product call
Change the following columns
1. Master Pack GTIN - put in master case GTIN - i.e. 20813862001672
2. GTIN formatted - Put in retail GTIN with a single quote to keep the leading zeros - i.e. '00813862001678
3. GTIN - same as above i.e. '00813862001678
4. Item Name - for internal use only
5. Brand - not needed
6. Production Date
7. Lot
Open the label formats with Bartender
1. Connect them to the new data source - select cylinder icon and browse to the data source
2. Change the production date by right clicking on the barcode and selecting properties. Select Production date and change to YYMMDD format. ie. 250504
3. Scroll through the records with the arrows until you reach the record that you want to export.
- Select File->Export Image
- Select Export Entire Template Image
- Select Save to File
- Do not select the checkbox Include non printing objects. This is off by default. That way the name will not appear in the final image.
- Select OK
- For the Master case labels I saved them in a folder called Master Case samples. I used file names like Master Case Sin Mint AIO using the name of the product.
- I did the same for Retail using the retail folder.
- Sometimes when working remotely you cannot click File. The shortcut CTRL E (if on File) also opens the export menu.
4. When finished I scanned them (on screen) with the Scandit app
- I found it easier to open all the file in one folder with acrobat and scan them one at a time while scrolling through the data source and closing the PDF after I scan them making the list smaller and smaller
Put both folders into a zip file and sent them to Mari, Graham and Basel.
Back up to SharePoint and the Bartender server.
